Other Projects I assisted include but are not limited to Aqueous, Trouble Funk, and The Healing Circle. Although I did not design the covers I assisted in text changes, corrections, Reformating in Indesign, and Jackect creation for many projects during my time with Red Hen. My fluency in Indesign allowed me to move between many projects from minor edits to hardcover jackets.
During my 6 month contract with Red Hen Press, I learned invaluable skills about publication and print. I got the opportunity to design a book cover for “Secret Harvest: A Hidden Story of Separation and the Resilience of a Family Farm”. Utilizing artwork from Patricia Wakida, reformatting the work for print, and choosing a suitable font and layout was an amazing opportunity to represent such powerful writing visually. This Book Cover was a huge step as a designer. An advanced signed copy sits in my collection now.
